World Diabetes Day 2021 Poster Competition

Eligibility Requirements

The poster competition is open to anyone living in Belize. A valid proof of identification must be attached to your entry i.e copy of Social Security Card, Passport etc.

The participant should prepare a short statement describing their poster design. Statements should be no more than 314 words and should consist of text only (no graphics).

Please note that applicants may only submit one poster to the competition.

Poster Competition Guidelines

Please read before you enter and make sure your poster has everything it needs.

Judging will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Posters must be completed on white poster board, Bristol board or construction paper. Poster size must not exceed 12” x 18”. Competitors may choose to orient the poster vertically or horizontally.

  2. Poster must contain the phrase: “Access to Diabetes Care:If not now, when?” and the words “World Diabetes Day 2021-23” incorporated into the design.

  3. All illustrations and text must be readable from a distance of 3 feet. Photographs, wires, other 3D objects, print-outs won’t be acceptable. Design should be original and hand made.

     

  4. Each participant must place the following information on the back of their poster:

  1. Participant’s name
  2. Address

  3. Phone number

  • Be as creative as you can!

  • Make sure you meet all of the criteria listed above.

  • Keep it theme oriented and check your spelling.

  • Check for spelling errors. No 3-d models will be accepted.

  • Make sure that you aren’t copying any designs from other resource materials. i.e.; science books, magazines, or previously finished posters.

     

    Poster selected for printing will be awarded $125.00 at the BDA-Czl Branch Office.

The Blue Circle is the international symbol for Diabetes. Participants are welcome to integrate it into their design. However, please be aware it is a registered trademark of the International Diabetes Federation and there are guidelines for its usage that must be followed.

COPYRIGHT: All submissions become the property of the Belize Diabetes Association- Corozal Branch and may be used and reproduced in our social media, on our website etc. No entries will be returned.

SUBMISSION FORMAT: Submissions should be sent and received at the Belize Diabetes Association- Corozal Branch Office no later than 1:00pm on November 3rd 2021.

Judging for the Competition

A panel of judges will review the submissions. The judges will be selected from among Staff, Volunteers, Sponsors, Donors and Collaborators of the BDA-Czl Branch.

Each judge will rate each entry on a 40-point scale based on:

  • Creative and original artwork and idea - 10 points.
     

  • Attractiveness in terms of design and neatness of layout - 10 points.
     

  • Relevance to the theme, Overall Impact, all graphics are related to the topic and make it easier to understand the poster theme - 10 points.

  • Adherence to Guideline- 10 points

The final ranking of entries will be based upon the mean of the resulting distribution of scores.

Recognition of Participants and Winners

The winning submission will receive a $125.00 prize from the BDA-Czl Branch.

The winner and participants will be recognized publicly at the annual World Diabetes Day ceremony. The winner’s Prize and certificates for participants will be distributed at that time.
